Excelsior Arborists Hits 2,500 Trees Inventoried Since May
Since kicking off in May, Principal Arborist Russell Clark has inventoried more than 2,500 trees, a milestone that reflects both the pace of the work and the growing need for detailed tree data.
Why Tree Inventories Matter
A comprehensive tree inventory is the foundation of good urban forestry management, and sometimes even a sample dataset is a good idea. By recording species, size, health condition, and location for every tree, the managers of the urban forest can better plan and budget accordingly.
Plan proactive maintenance and pruning schedules
Identify hazardous or declining trees before they become liabilities
Track canopy coverage and biodiversity over time
Budget accurately for tree care and removal

What's Next
With momentum building, Excelsior Urban Forestry shows no signs of slowing down. Another 5,500 trees are slated for Ashland, Massachusetts and up to 3,000 for Gresham, Oregon. In both of these cases, Excelsior Urban Forestry teamed with a larger company to provide the expert fieldwork.
